The hotel is not bad considering the price and the location, but the rooms are too small and quite hot (we have slept with open windows in april). Continental breakfasts donґt have any sweet thing, only toasts and little pieces of bread.

A nice art deco style hotel with a great location. We stayed there for four nights in December 2008 with no problems.

A great location that's ideal to the Hop on Hop off stop right around the corner. Very quiet at night and hotel has all the required facilities. Only suggestion is that the keyboard on the computer re internet use in the lobby is updated - a lot of difficulty typing due to it being stainless steel - keys stick. Other than that will be recommending it to friends of ours going to London in February. Special note - staff in the breakfast room is extremely friendly and helpful.

Very high street noise. In addition, the rowdy patrons of the bowling aracade in the basement of the hotel make a tremendous amount of noise well into the night and you cannot shut the noise out as the window needs to be kept open for cooling.
The service at the bar is exceptionally poor. Discourteous staff, limited choice of drinks and one TV which the staff use as their own.
For internet you have to carry your laptop to the neighbouring hotel where there is free wireless access in the lobby.

My only quip against this basic tourist hotel in central London is the crap beds. Old, small and uncomfortable. If they would be replaced by something more up to date, difficult due to the tiny space granted, the rooms would be great. The building itself is really cool, very authenticly art deco with the original design details still there. The corner bar had great underused potential, it was not as inviting as it could have been. Still a good meeting place if you are staying with friends. Location at Russell Sq is perfect for central London, tube and plenty of buses.

Organisation of breakfast chaotic. Continental and English offerred from one area. Waiters run round trying to catch guests out who try and supplement their meagre continental breakfast with an egg, ending in arbitrary charges being made in cash and without receipt on exit. Coffee waiter only notices guests within a 5 metre radius
